Now
faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV
Hope
is knowing that God’s promises are rock-solid and unchanging, especially when
my emotions are all over the place.
Let
us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted
to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23 NLT
Hope
is knowing I can trust God with and in everything, even as He gives me the
strength and time I need to adjust to life’s changes.
But blessed are those who trust in the
Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees
planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of
drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT
Hope
is knowing that when life is taking everything out of me, He won’t let it
consume me.
Because
of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations
3:22 NIV
Hope
is knowing that God can and will bring good from everything, even the pain I’m
going through.
And
we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who
love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT
Hope
is knowing God walks with me through the unfamiliar and unwanted territories in
life.
Don’t
be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Hope
is knowing God will meet me wherever I am, and He loves me too much to leave me
there.
You
were in serious trouble, but you prayed to the Lord, and he rescued you. He
made the storm stop and the sea be quiet. Psalm
107:28-29 CEV
Hope
is knowing that this season in my life will not last forever. He’s already
planning the next season.
“For
I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and
not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
Hope
is knowing God is in control, and I don’t have to be. [Tweet this]
Be
still, and know that I am God! Psalm
46:10 NLT
Thank
you for joining me here today. If you are reading Sheila Walsh’s book The Shelter of God’s Promises, we are in Chapter 7 “Hope…I’m Broken.” What Scripture verse do you find
hope in?
In Christ,
Laura
Hi Laura - and we must never give up hope. I've read lots lately this week about seasons. I believe God is also telling me this is a season, which will pass too, for the next one. God bless and I am praying for you.
