Earlier this week, my post (Part One) focused on Scripture verses that speak of Jesus’s love for us.
Today (Part Two) I’m sharing verses of Jesus’s promises to us…
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all
of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Don’t be afraid, for
I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you
and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
For I hold you by
your right hand—I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am
here to help you.’ Isaiah 41:13
When you go through deep waters, I will be with
you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you
walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will
not consume you. Isaiah 43:2
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter
you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm
91:4
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I
will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. Psalm 91:14-15
And
Jesus’s power over Satan…
For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight
for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory! Deuteronomy 20:4
Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:10-18
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he
will flee from you. James 4:7
*All verses from the New
Living Translation, in no particular order.
What are your favorite Scripture verses when you think of
His love for us, His promises to us, and His power over the enemy?

ReplyDeleteI love the book of Ephesians. There are many verses which I love in the book of Ephesians, particularly Paul's prayer in Chapter 3: 14-21
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Oh yes, good verses! We trust in Him and we receive from Him love, strength, and power. So much that we can't even understand the depth. Thanks Wendy!
DeleteWhat are my favorite verses?? You just shared them many of them. Those particular verses gave me such encouragement as I went through terribly deep waters. Precious.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up over at WholeHearted Home this past week. I hope you join me again tomorrow and linkup again. I was away last week and am so sorry that it took me so long to stop over.
Thanks Judith!
DeleteAll those verses are highlighted and highlighted again in my Bible... Did I mention they are underlined, too? All are great promises from God that I have clung to time and time again!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I wasn't encouraged to write in my Bible while growing up, so it was huge for me to start doing it. Now I love being able to go right to underlined verses and looking at past notes about the verses. Thanks Joan!
