Trust in the
Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his
will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs
3:5-6 NLT
Lord, thank You for teaching me to trust You…forgive me for the days I struggle and don’t do so well.
Please give me Your patience to wait on You.
You know I feel like I should be “doing” something while I wait. Remind me that trusting and waiting on You is doing something.
Help me to remember that You’ve got this…I don’t need to understand it.
Trust God from
the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one
who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all.

Laura, we are 'neighbors' at The Sunday Community today. This is my favorite version (The Message) of these Proverbs verses. Great post. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Laura!!! The Sunday community is overflowing this morning with many of my favorite verses. Have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteThere have been many time throughout my life when that first verse has been my mainstay.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture too!
amen.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right... we think we should be 'doing' something whilst we wait upon God (and in certain situations, e.g. looking to secure employment for instance, we should be doing something, i.e. we should be doing our best to put forward a good CV, scanning the papers, etc for suitable jobs to apply for, sharpening interview skills, etc) but in many other situations, just waiting IS doing something... it's putting our faith into action.
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another excellent post Laura. And one which we all need reminding about from time to time.
An excellent point Wendy...there are times we can be doing something like preparation, education, etc. And at all times we should be in God's Word and communicating with Him.
DeleteWhen I wrote this I was coming from the times I think I can make a something happen. I want something to take place, and despite the numerous obstacles, I go ahead and make it happen. When what I should do is wait on God's timing. If He wants it to happen, He'll move the obstacles and make it happen. His Way and in His time.
Thanks Wendy! God bless!
I'm stopping by today from Jumping Tandem Sunday.
ReplyDeleteListen for he will speak.
I hope you and yours has a blessed week!
Fabulous reminder and one I often fail to do. I tend to worry and I'm learning that this is telling the Lord I don't have faith in His plan for me. I love Pro 3:5-6. Thanks for stopping by my site!
ReplyDeleteSo good of a reminder, thank you... take care,
ReplyDeleteYes and amen!
