Be Thankful {Something to Think About}

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT

I was reminded today that there is always reason to thank God. No matter what is going on or how I’m feeling, God is faithful and He is with us. Every day, He is worthy of our thanks and praise.

Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 CEV

In Christ,
Laura

  4. Wonderful verse this morning. It is so easy to get caught up in the whining, that we forget to be thankful IN all things! Sometimes people misread that to be thankful FOR all things...vast different! I can find something to be thankful for in every situation - even if the situation is a bad one! Blessings today!

  7. Good reminder. Needed it today when jerky stuff has been tossed before my eyes and heart. [YES, I know the truth; my emotions don't always get there fast enough!]

  8. Laura, I love this share- I just said this to my daughter and to my Sunday School boys today. Taking God at His word is WORK. Choice. So good to wrap around it because it does breed gratitude, while not doing so breeds discontent and bat attitudes. In my experience and opinion! ;) Happy Sunday!

  9. Always. I've never met anyone who couldn't thank God. We may not like some of our circumstances, but there's always blessings. My list grows and grows.

    Blessings,
    Pamela

  10. I was just talking with a dear sister in church today. She's losing her home, similar to my situation a couple of years ago. She was in tears and I know where she is. Been there. I was asking her to look back to see what God had already done, and find those other things to thank Him for. She just couldn't. It was so sad. But truly, when we thank Him even in the midst of heartache, our eyes are opened to His goodness all around!

    1. Hi Barbie,
      Sometimes I think we are just too overwhelmed to see anything but what's immediately in our view. Giving thanks in those times took practice for me, and still does. She is blessed to have you to talk to!
      In Christ,
      Laura
