Brave.
I stared at the word and my mind was blank. After a few
minutes of looking at the word (I actually wonder if I dozed off.) I decided
this Five Minute Friday wasn’t the day for me to participate.
I moved away from the computer to my Bible and started to
pray. Still brain-dead, I didn’t know what to pray, and words were slow in
coming to mind.
I opened my Bible, wondering where to start reading when my
eyes focused on an underlined verse.
Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Psalm
27:14 NLT
And there was the word “brave” again.
I thought about how it takes bravery to
live for Jesus when the world values living for ourselves.
Bravery to stand up for what’s right,
despite the difficult effort to do so.
Bravery to lay down what I want in life for
what God wants in my life. And knowing the two may never be the same.
Bravery to wait patiently for God…for His
plan in His time.
I remembered the KraftyKash
necklace I received two weeks ago at the Jumping Tandem Retreat…with
the word “Brave” on it. At first glance, I hadn’t made a connection with that
particular necklace being meant for me.
But now…I think maybe it just wasn’t time
for me to get it yet.

It seems like it always takes three times of God impressing something on me in three different ways to get the message. I see I'm not alone. And I love that necklace. Do you know where I can purchase one?
ReplyDeleteI agree, sometimes it takes repetition. Once, we might miss it...twice, we might question it...but 3 or more times, that's not a coincidence. I'm so thankful God is patient and will keep repeating things to me! :)
DeleteHere's the link to the KraftyKash store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kraftykash There are so many wonderful designs to choose from!
Blessings,
Laura
Glad you shared.
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed to hear at just this moment. Thank you friend. I was reminded that the waiting is the work of faith...the being brave part.

Someone reminded me a while ago that waiting is an action word...which is probably why it often seems like the hardest part for me. :) I'm so glad it touched you tonight. Thanks Kelly, seeing your comment made me smile. {hugs}
DeleteIsn't he a good Father to repeat Himself when we don't get it the first time? :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Elizabeth! He's so much more patient when He repeats Himself for me, than I am when I have to do the same for someone else. :)
Deletewonderful, I am so glad you were able to go to that retreat I saw a few pictures that looked like you were in them, it is a good word... and powerful too.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good word...one God repeats so many times in the Bible. Thanks for visiting, God bless!
DeleteI'm thrilled to meet you! I love when you wrote: "Bravery to lay down what I want in life for what God wants in my life." This is me now, trying to rid myself of selfish desires...and trying to accept what He wants me to do for His purposes. Thank you for this thoughtful post!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteIt does take bravery to live for Jesus. :) I love how Father led you to a Bible verse on the word for Friday. He is so cool!!
Blessings,

So good. Being brave is saying yes to Him, even when we are shaking in our boots. Love that necklace!
