What You Do Is Important
I struggle sometimes with feeling as if I'm not doing anything important—or that what I do doesn't matter.
When reading these verses from Isaiah, "But my work seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose," I think: Me too! That's how I feel!
I wonder what my work amounts to and question my purpose. I see the accomplishments of other women, and it leads to feelings of discouragement...even wanting to give up.
I'm super excited to be a new contributor at Christian Devotions with my first devotion published today! I hope you'll join me there to continue reading: What You Do Is Important!
In Christ,
Laura

Oh, congrats! So fun to write for other blogs. Praying your devotional encourages many.
ReplyDeleteThat was wonderful Laura! It is also very true! God will place the right people in front of your work and that is how it happens. God knows how to herd the sheep!

I love when God shows us someone in the Bible that has the same feelings we do! It validates me somehow. And how exciting that you're posting on Christian Devotions! Heading there now :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Laura. I love your devotional posts.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful! Heading over to read now!
ReplyDeleteI love this verse from Isaiah! I don't remember reading it before.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with not being able to "see the effects of (my) labor". And sometimes I actually feel sorry for myself about it and have to confess it as a sin.
But the Lord is Sovereign, and He knows that if I knew how much He was using me, I would be tempted to take the credit instead of giving Him all the glory like He deserves. So in the end, I'm glad He doesn't show me, and that He just lets me have a little peek once in a while to encourage me not to give up.
