Someone to Listen

Welcome! I’m over at 5 Minutes for Faith today…
As a mom, I wish I could fix all of the issues my daughter has to face.

The dramas of growing up and fitting in.
Learning to control her emotions and behavior.

Figuring out how to live in this sinful world.
But even if I could solve everything, I know it wouldn’t be what’s best for her because there are lessons to be learned.
What I can do is be there for her.

And sometimes, that’s what she needs most—someone to listen and let her know her feelings are valid.
She wants to be heard. She wants to know I’m there for her no matter what.
I can understand that—I want that too.
To read more, join me at 5 Minutes for Faith. And if you would, leave a comment. I’d love to know you stopped by.

In Christ,
Laura

  1. Wonderful post and photo. What a Godly mother, Your desires for your daughter and wanting to be there for her. Because of that, she will see God as wanting to be there for her and a personal God she can talk to. Awesome!

  3. As our son has grown up I've learned that they have to find their own path.
I'm stopping by for a blog visit via Jumping Tandem Sunday!
The words that you used today truly rest with me. After almost 2 weeks of severe pain I woke up to my 'normal' level. Not once did I ask God to take it away; just to give me strength to continue in that moment.

    Have a blessed week.

  4. Beautiful post today my friend. It's hard to watch our daughters grow up, yet so beautiful to watch their lives unfold, as they come into themselves. I am in a struggle with my nearly 13yo and I know it's only because she's testing her limits and wanting to spread her wings and fly.

  5. Godly wisdom is a good thing! I circle that word everywhere in the Word. Can't ever let it go away. Want to use it on earth forever. For kids, grandkids, friends, NON-friends... whoever God places in my life. Good reminder.
