Only one more week until we begin!

I am so excited for our What Happens When Women Say Yes to God online study to start on June 5! As I write this, we have 19 women signed up from 3 states! How awesome it is to watch God at work!

If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s not too late. Simply send me an e-mail at laurajrath@gmail.com with your name, e-mail address, and city and state. For more information on the study and the book What Happens When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa TerKeurst, click here: Online Study.

The study runs for 4 weeks. We will cover 2 chapters a week, except for the last week when we have 3 chapters to finish the book. Each week I will e-mail the suggested reading assignment. It will later be posted on my blog.

As we get started next weekend, I encourage you to be active in the study. Although it is online, there are ways to interact with the group. I will post twice a week with thoughts on the chapters. You can then comment on these thoughts, as well as to the comments from others. Share your thoughts, God moments, meaningful Scripture verses, prayer requests, or whatever is on your heart. You can always e-mail me, as well, at laurajrath@gmail.com.

Until next week…

God Bless,
Laura

What Scripture Verse Are You Clinging To?

Years ago I was going through a rough time and a close friend asked me, “What Scripture verse are you clinging to?” Think about that question for a moment.

The dictionary in my NLT Bible defines the word cling as “to adhere as if glued firmly; to hold or hold on tightly or tenaciously.” In other words, what verse was I holding onto for dear life? What verse was going to get me through that situation?

Although I had never thought of it that way before, I knew immediately that I was clinging to Matthew 11:28.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’”
I was so tired and worn out at the time, my strength could only be coming from Him.

I’ve since asked others close to me “What Scripture verse are you clinging to?” when I could see they were struggling. Now I’m asking you. Do you have a Scripture verse that you cling to? Is it a verse that you rely on in times of trouble? Or maybe it’s a verse that gives you strength and hope. Would you share it with us?

Click below to leave a comment and share your verse. All comments left by Monday, May 23 will be entered for a chance to receive a free copy of the book What Happens When Women Say Yes to God by Lysa TerKeurst. I will announce the name of the winner on my blog on Tuesday, May 24 and ask her to contact me by e-mail so I can get the book to her.

If you are new to commenting, here are a few tips: When you leave your comment, you can choose:

Name/URL - give as much, or as little, of your name as you like. (Or even just your initials) How you type your name is how it will appear in your comment. Ignore URL unless you have a Website and want it linked to your name.

Anonymous - If you choose Anonymous, that’s fine too. Although it will be easier to announce a winner with a name or initials. J
